F.A.Q.

- Is Dragonball AF real?
No. Well not in the way your thinking. Rumors of a new series come from fan manga (comics) drawn in Japan, otherwise known as "doujinshi". Generally, these comics are very well-drawn, and can easily be mistaken for Toriyama's work. However, they are fan-made, and are not considered a part of the DB universe. Akira Toriyama and TOEI Animation have nothing to do with the series whatsoever. Episodes of AF will never be made, and levels such as SSJ5 do not officially exist. Although many confuse the DBGT Special that takes 100 years after the end of GT as DBAF it is not. DBGT Episode #64 the last episode of DBZGT.

- What are the DBGT: Lost Episodes?
The 'Lost Episodes' are in fact the Original first episodes of GT, which FUNimation skipped. Apparently they thought fans would get the wrong impression of GT if they started dubbing with them, so they skipped ahead to the more Z-like episodes. Note that these episodes are not really 'lost', only skipped by FUNimation.

- How do you spell ___'s name?
I'm not certain how you spell every character's name in every language and all site seem to use different spellings. I consider FUNimation's spelling to be the official spelling because they are the people who translated and dubbed the show.

- Is there a lost Movie #14?
No, there is not. What is rumored to be an OVA is in reality a three-part series from a Playdia game, called The Plan to Destroy the Saiyans. This 3-part 'movie' was later released in Japan on VHS. It is unknown whether FUNimation plans to dub this and release it.

- How is the version in the U.S. different from the original?
The U.S. version of Dragonball is greatly censored and cut, you can thank FUNimation for the mass editing. It's been edited as much as possible so 7 year olds can watch it on Cartoon Network, which greatly angered viewers who had seen the original uncut series. Roughly 19% on average is cut from every episode from seasons one and two; 53 American shows is the same as 65 of the Japanese version. Season three animation has remained pretty much untouched in the cut version, but the dialogue has been butchered significantly.

- Whose cells did Cell contain? Did he really go Super Saiyan?
Here is the exact list of the cells Cell contained: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Tien, Piccolo, Krillin, Nappa, Frieza, and King Cold . No, Trunks was not included. Because Cell contained cells from Saiyans he was able to go Super Saiyan. He is one every time he has a yellow aura. Cell even reaches SSJ2 when he comes back after destroying King Kai's planet (obvious from the sudden blue electricity which all SSJ2 share).

- How many episodes of DB /Z /GT are there? :
In the Japanese (original) series there are...
153 episodes of Dragonball
291 episodes of Dragonball Z
64 episodes of Dragonball GT

- Who is the strongest Human excluding Uub?
Contrary to popular belief, the answer is Tien. He came into the series stronger than Krillin, and stayed that way. Krillin arguably may have surpassed him in the Frieza saga, but with an extra year of training at King Kai's, Tien probably made up the difference. (In DB, he seemed to benefit more from training, constantly staying stronger than Krillin, so that information supports this idea.) In addition, Krillin stops training after the Cell Saga, and Tien keeps at it. Therefore, Tien is clearly stronger.

- Why does Tien have three eyes?
It's actually to represent his enlightenment. That particular place on the Human body---where Tien's third eye is---is a chakra from which power can be derived, according to some Chinese philosophies. It is also where the third eye that supposedly all beings have resides. Through training and meditation, Tien has managed to make that third eye manifest itself physically.

- What do the 'Z' and 'GT' stand for?
I'll start with GT, It's an acronym for "Grand Tour". The beginning of GT involves a lot of traveling, so it's easy to see where it got its name. Z, on the other hand, stands for nothing. It's just a way to separate the series from Dragon Ball on television. It was not originally there and the particular letter Z was used because it sounded cool.
